BOSTON — Tuesday is Bob Dylan’s 70th birthday, but the legendary singer certainly isn't retiring. Dylan is continuing a seemily never-ending tour — another chapter in a career now spanning almost six decades.

So, what is it like working with the master? Few people know — but one who does is Somerville’s Al Kooper. Fresh off playing organ on Dylan’s album Highway 61 Revisited, Kooper found himself again working with Dylan.

In audio footage from the WGBH archive and the WGBH documentary Rock and Rool, Kooper takes us back to 1966, when a 25-year-old Bob Dylan was working on his seventh studio album in Nashville, Blonde on Blonde. Click the player above to listen.

Happy 70th Birthday Bob and may you continue writing those great songs
