Elma Lewis - 1975

Elma Lewis (1921-2004) is consiered my many to be a cultural icon.  She created the Elma Lewis School of Fine Arts in 1950, the first of its kind in Boston for children and young adults of color.  Ms. Lewis expanded the vision of the school in 1968 when she created the National Center of Afro American Artists (NCAAA).
