I was saddened that you allowed Laura Bennett of the Mass Teachers Association to pass along the falsehood that Wisconsin governor Walker received the support of the fire and police unions in his 2010 election bid. He received support from a couple of locals that represented less than 10 of each union. The state unions and the other locals overwhelmingly and vociferously supported Walkers opponent. This issue has been extensively reported and your producers should have adequately briefed you.

The Wisconsin Assembly is debating a budget bill that could eliminate public employee unions. The controversial proposal attracted thousands of protestors to Madison over the weekend and has local labor leaders worried whether their unions will be targeted next. Emily is joined by Mac D’Alessandro of SEIU and Laura Barrett of the Massachusetts Teachers Association.
