No one in this discussion mentioned the vitally important fact that only wifi networks with security turned off were vulnerable. Having an unsecured router is like leaving your front door wide open. Its not exactly your fault if youre robbed, but what do you expect?

Google’s Street View Maps is a popular service of the internet giant. But Google acknowledged that the devices used to capture the images for Street Views inadvertently collected personal and sensitive data over public Wi-Fi networks. Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley has asked Google to provide details on the data to determine whether people's privacy was violated.
