Like other people have posted, I cant get over how illprepared the interviewer was. Im happy that the NEOTHSL is getting publicity but the interviewer couldnt have done a worse job in preparing or sounding like she knew anything about the game. From not knowing the date of the final to not knowing one big name in the game. It only take 2 minutes to Google it.

What a pity that Ms. Rooney, normally wellprepared and knowledgeable, failed to do any research on this topic. She knew less about soccer than the average sheepdog! Never heard of Beckham, Maradona, Ronaldo? Has she watched one game of this World Cup? Her questions were so naive she threw her guests into disbelieving confusion. Thank goodness Brian is a real professional and could intelligently handle her absurd high schoollevel interview. The video and Steve S.s comments were excellent. Soccer will still have a difficult row to hoe when even TV shows that decide to feature the beautiful game do so in such an offhand, couldnt care less, manner. Shame on Emily Rooney.

Steve looked great

With the World Cup underway, the interest in soccer in the U.S. seems like it has never been higher. But the passion for the sport is unmatched outside the U.S. Emily speaks about the unity of the sport with the Cezar Wislocki–Wasecki, the president of the Massachusetts Amateur Soccer Association and Brian O’Donovan of WGBH's A Celtic Sojourn. Brian is also an international soccer expert and was the first general manager of the New England Revolution.
