Between 2007 and 2008, bestselling author Sebastian Junger was embedded with US troops in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley, an area he refers to the area as “the Afghanistan of Afghanistan.” His new book War recalls his time spent with US soldiers on Afghanistan's front line. The book is also the subject of a documentary that Junger co-directed called Restrepo which recently won the Sundance Film Festival’s jury prize for best documentary.
