Its interesting that Its the "townies" that didnt want to purchase Sweetwilliam farm and help perserve one of the last family farms from becoming yet another subdivision. This confuses me. I realize they didnt want to use town money for the purchase, but taxes were not going to be effected by the purchase. The only thing that would of been effected is that a Mini Mansion plaza would of replaced what will now remain part of the historical landscape of what is Upton. Its like they dont want the newcomers to come in and upset the balance of this small town, but they would of rather had Sweetwilliam farm replaced by a new development?

WGBH’s Where We Live series continues with a visit to Upton. Greater Boston’s Jared Bowen, an Upton native, returns to his hometown to see how the American Dream is holding up.
