Newton homeowner here One might think that the bike lanes were a response to a green movement or that they would be used for students or workers on way to work or class. This is not the case. The bike lanes are a conversion of the public roadway to recreational use by a small cadre of cyclists to ride multithousand dollar racing bikes in colorful costumes living a tour de France fantasy. We pay for roads to get back and forth to work IN OUR CARS!. Another case of a special interest group with influence with the mayor etc. getting special consideration. Time for Occupy Newton.

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign! Why are hundreds of new signs scattered between Commonwealth Ave. and the Carriageway in Newton? Newton Mayor Setti Warren and COO Robert Rooney explain.
