Unemployment is at its highest rate in Massachusetts since 1976.  The state’s projected budget deficit is now $600 million. Today Governor Deval Patrick said the state will layoff as many as 2000 workers to help close the budget gap. Emily is joined by Michael Widmer of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, Somerville Mayor Joe Curtatone and Geoff Beckwith of the Mass. Municipal Association.
