Mass Decision 2010, Religion In The Governor's Race
On the national stage, religion often plays an integral role in the politicians' presentation. During the 2008 presidential campaign, President Obama's church was the subject of much discussion, and former President George W. Bush found many opportunities to reference his faith. Not so in the Massachusetts race for Governor, notes UMASS Political Science Professor, Maurice Cunningham in a recent article. We'll ask him why religion has been absent from this year's election, and whether candidates would be helped or harmed by referencing their faith in the final week before elections.
