As a supporter of GBH and viewer of MI5... Id have to say that GBH has let is viewers down when coming to MI5... and showed very little interest in addressing questions for the viewers who kept asking for answers... Someday the viewer may show a protest and skip their donation pledge ... Then maybe GBH will get their act together Jesse

Jan commented on MI-5 on 01.10.12
Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that the new season of MI5 will be shown on 44 although it has been on 2 before. How about those of us who dont receive 44? This and other Brit programs are why we joined!

geoff commented on MI-5 on 01.03.12
Last fall gbh promised to air the new and final series in January, but now there is no mention of it. The schedule listing does not even say which series and episodes are being aired. This iis a serial, I.e with a continuous story and plot lines which span multiple shows. Viewers need more information, and this has been raised multiple times before. Come on guys at GBH how hard can it be to get this right?

Jan commented on MI-5 on 12.14.11
Agree with earlier posts! Move to 44 disenfranchises many members who live outside the area and do not receive 44. Same is true for Lark Rise and others. This is terribly disappointing as MI5 was a big reason we became members. Will have to rethink if you move the best programs to a channel we cannot receive! Lets hear a response or at least some consideration for us!

j commented on MI-5 on 12.03.11
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH MI5?????? FIRST IT WAS ON FRIDAYS, THEN ON THURSDAYS, THEN AT 9, THEN AT 10 AND NOW IT HAS DISAPPEARED. DONT YOU WANT PEOPLE TO WATCH IT??? AND IT SEEMED TO BE IN A HAPHAZARD ORDER, WITH PEOPLE WHO HAD DIED ONE WEEK REAPPEARING THE WEEK AFTER. BRING IT BACK, RIGHT AWAY

Jed commented on MI-5 on 10.26.11
Why on earth is the MI5 rebroadcast at 3AM? Not all of us have every Monday free you know.

Charles commented on MI-5 on 10.26.11
MI5 is a great program watch every week. BUT since moving to Comcast channel 818 there are absolutely no 818 schedules available to my TiVo. Everything is just "To Be Announced" even when it is playing. Somehow you are not sending any 818 schedule information to whatever service distributes this to the world, including the TiVo listings.

martin commented on MI-5 on 10.21.11
MI5 I read that WGBH was running through all the MI5SPOOKS series but now 1/2 way through we lose them in Canada and YES Canada provides $$, many $$ you are moving to 44 we dont get 44 only 2 so nothing is available. My son says dont watch TV download he offers me the complete SPOOKS series on a DVD if I follow that and others do that I see the end of broadcast TV I guess the message is if you make our TVwatching lives difficult we have an option the Internet then WGBH the $$ will go to zero. Why move to ch. 44? And while I am writing an essay WGBH please provide more information about the programming in the future I also want to plan to watch the Met Operas but you dont tell me when the next one is coming only when the last one was really helpful. WGBH your days are numbered you need loyal viewers please make it easy to keep watching you.

patrick commented on MI-5 on 10.17.11
Why did you move MI5 to WGBH44 FROM WGBH 2? Not good and also Lark rise to candleford, what else are you moving? We watch wgbh2 we dont get wgbh44

Julie commented on MI-5 on 10.11.11
When is MI5 returning to WGBH2 please?

Marsha commented on MI-5 on 08.31.11
MI 5 is by far the best drama on American television. I am SO disappointed that season 10 will be the last. Does anyone know why the BBC made this decision?

Kate commented on MI-5 on 08.26.11
This is currently my favorite show on TV one of many terrific British productions. HOWEVER, I am not alone in being seriously frustrated by the loud music track overlay. Far too often, dialog thats rapid, heavily accented, and softly spoken or mumbled is just about impossible to understand. If I replay a bit of dialog several times and still cant make it out, I just move on but its annoying and unsatisfying. If WGBH intends to keep importing this product or ifs a joint production in any way PLEASE tell them to tone down the soundtrack volume so we can hear the words and follow every plot twist and clue!

Mark commented on MI-5 on 06.23.11
Let me correct my previous posting. MI5 series 9 IS available on Netflix for downloading. It would not download on my computer, and VideoETA.com is saying a July release date, but I was just able to stream Episode 1 of Series 9 on my TiVO. WGBH, by the way, did not answer a couple of emails I had sent them previously about the availability of MI5 on WGBH. For those who cannot access the streaming Netflix, I would suggest TiVOing the August marathon. I dont understand why they are waiting til NEXT Spring to air it on a weekly basis. I would think that Series 10 would be available at that point.

Mark commented on MI-5 on 06.23.11
It may list Season 9 on Netflix, but it is NOT available. If you try to watch Series 9, it takes you to Series 8. The new DVD/streaming for MI Series 9 will begin on July 21 or something close to that, but before the marathon on WGBH..

Everett commented on MI-5 on 05.27.11
Season 9 is available on Netflix. Hopefully WGBH will air it soon.

Sybil commented on MI-5 on 05.25.11
Im so confused. Can anyone tell me what season we are watching? Ive tried to search for the episode titles on the MI5 and the BBCs Spooks Website, but they only give episode numbers, not names. Thanks

Beverly commented on MI-5 on 04.20.11
According to TVGuide.com, theres a ninth season of MI5 to follow the Feb. 25 finale of Season #8. I only hope WGBH will air it.

Thomas commented on MI-5 on 04.10.11
Great program. Wish that you aired in with some kind of order, not from 9 to 1.

Murray commented on MI-5 on 02.26.11
Once again, WGBH has dropped the ball on another program that viewers actually watch. It appears they are now running MI5 from the beginning, with Episode 1 of Series 1 scheduled for next week. Emails to them concerning when the will be running Series 9 have gone unanswered. I have heard rumors that Series 9 will be available on DVD midsummer, and we may have to wait til then to find out spoilers next who lived and who died in the explosion. Series 9 has already run in the UK, so avoid reading reviews elsewhere if you dont want to know what happened.

Ann commented on MI-5 on 02.26.11
Just finished MI5 Friday, Feb. 25 episode good grief! And no previews of coming attractions? Does this mean this season is completed? Next weeks synopsis of the show names characters with whom I am unfamiliar. I certainly hope we viewers are not dangled for another season Ros could be dead or not, and the Home Secretary could also be gone. And Lucas? Did not like the abrupt letdown! Ann

Catherine commented on MI-5 on 02.20.11
Id really like to think that there some goodlooking men who can think with their brain rather than their genitals. Adam had this problem and now we have another male Lucaswho cant think with his brain when faced with a beautiful ? woman, Sarah Caulfield like Holden?.The woman even in her onscene dealings with Lucas is brittle and scheming and now that Lucas has seen her true side how can he have any residual feelings for this cold bitch? God, lust is a powerful tool. Thank God Im old enough to be only marginally interested and know that there are other things of value in lifeno Im not dead nor frigid. Lest anyone thing that the coldbloodedness by the Americans and its government operatives, both overt and covert was over playedread the news. How many episodes are scheduled for this season? Are we almost at the end of the originals? Will you replay the entire season before retiring ig it for the summer, so that those of us who may have missed an early program can view it? Is there another season in production and will WGBH purchase the broadcast rights? Cathy

Jennifer commented on MI-5 on 02.15.11
Hey John, Ros came back from Russia where she was posted as an undercover op getting Russian intel. She came back on the same day as Adam was trying to race a bomb laden car far away from a Remembrance Day memorial that was a target for terrorism secretly backed by Russia. Adam discovered the car full of explosives but just before jumping in to drive it away from the crowd Ros comes up and they acknowledged each other and then Adam jumped in the car and raced away to a empty car park so that when the car exploded it was away from any people. Unfortunately, just as he was jumping out of the car to run for safety the bomb exploded, killing Adam. It was was great show but Adam was my favorite so a few tears were shed. Thank you GBH for airing this awesome show. Wednesday night is my favorite TV night. Oh, and Harry shot the Russian double agent responsible for killing Adam in the next show.

William commented on MI-5 on 01.15.11
Did anyone catch the error last night, Friday 1/14, about Violet Franklin ? The name was chosen because Franklin was her favorite President. Maybe Franklin Roosevelt or Franklin Pierce, but Ben doesnt count as an American President. Was there some subtle side comment I missed or was this a BBC mistake?

John commented on MI-5 on 12.10.10
when did Rose come back and when and how did Adam die? I missed a couple of episodes from the new schedule?

Kathleen commented on MI-5 on 10.30.10
I wasnt aware of the new schedule for MI 5 and missed the first episode of Season 7. WIll it be rebroadcast? Changing it from Saturday to Friday was a surprise. Every week I cant wait to see this show. Please, please rebroadcast it. Kate

Andy commented on MI-5 on 10.24.10
Im an MI5 fan. The show sometimes depicts "the Americans" as somewhat crude and belligerent. Their treatment is actually charitable, if one takes the comments on this list as from typical Americans. Most of them sound like the whines of illmannered, entitled little brats.

Ursula commented on MI-5 on 10.22.10
I need to know IS THERE A SEASON 8???

Maureen commented on MI-5 on 10.03.10
I neglected to mention in my last posting that were in Phoenix and have Direct TV. Why arent we allowed to see MI5 as are other parts of the country???!!!!

Maureen commented on MI-5 on 10.03.10
I am LIVID that those of us who are incredibly loyal fans of MI5 will NOT be able to see the show anymore since its now on selected PBS stations! WHY cant such a wonderful show get more coverage?! This is horrible.

Beverly commented on MI-5 on 09.19.10
Im glad WGBH is finally coming to its senses and showing the same MI5 episode twice a week starting in late October. Can we trust you to do that for future seasons, if there are any? I realize that not everyone has a DVR or VCR, which I use to record programs while I sleep but would it hurt to give one of Novas, Natures or Masterpieces numerous latenight repeat slots to programs like MI5 or Waking the Dead? Or New Tricks. I miss that show.

Caroline commented on MI-5 on 09.14.10
Re the schedule. Might I suggest finding a better time for MI 5 than 11 pm to midnight ? MI 5 repays close attention. I dont want to doze off. Finding a regular slot 10 to ll is ok 910 would suit me even more Sometimes I think WGBH does not understands the value of shows like MI 5 and LIfe on Mars. Caroline

Jesse commented on MI-5 on 09.13.10
I posted a comment a while ago.. why is it everything on here is slow or backwards when it comes to this excellent show.. All I wanted to know, did they have Adam really die in the show... if so, I will reduce my pledge amount from 50 to 25 dollars as a protest! Hows that@!?

Jackie commented on MI-5 on 09.09.10
Finally, youre rerunning Wednesdays MI5 later in the week. I have been so distraught over missing an episode of by far one of the best shows on television. You repeat Masterpiece Theater/Mystery several times thank you!, why not MI5, and while youre at it, Waking the Dead?

Catherine commented on MI-5 on 09.06.10
At last ! A workable solution for MI5 fans and I for one really appreciate that this time your loyal supporters and fans of MI5 were heard. A chance for the people who receive only channel 2 to be able to partake of a program which their money supports. THANKS !!!!!!!!!!

Catherine commented on MI-5 on 08.22.10
Hey what is this "your comment has been submitted for approval"???? My comments regarding discontinuance of MI5 are what they are. None of my last 4 comments have and the one that was was not identified as mine. There was no swearing,,, Who gets "to approve" my thoughts and comments????? That is BULL. My thoughts to share with other MI5 fans are not managements to "approve" They are to be shared with others who care about this show. Does management care about the show or the fans or just the money????????

Catherine commented on MI-5 on 08.22.10
Cathy on 8/22/10 says FANS OF MI5 ... ITS TIME FOR A REVOLUTION !!!!!!!! Lets all contact WGBH in CAPITAL LETTERS to NOT DROP THIS EXCELLENT PROGRAM FROM CHANNEL 2. Making it "exculsively" on channel 44 is TOTALLY UNFAIR to loyal supporters of WGBH, who may get only channel 2. They have done this "bait and swItch" before and I for one am motrally tired of it. I HAVENT SENT IN MY PLEDGE YET AND MAY NOT SINCE THEY SEEM DEAF. IF MI5 CAN BE SHOWN ON CHANNEL 44 IT CAN BE SHOWN ON CHANNEL 2.

Geoff commented on MI-5 on 08.21.10
I cannot believe that your schedulers have done it again. Once or twice in a season, Mi5 has a two part epiosode and you replace the second part with a fundraiser AGAIN!!!! Will we ever get a change to see the conclusion of the part 1 shown on Aug 14? And theres no serious scheuling information available viewers need to see whats going to be screened when especially with a serial drama such as this. PLEASE get it right! Its really impossible to follow a sequential drama on GBH under these conditions. But anyway, I see that your taking it off of 2, and since my reception of 44 is not good enough I guess Ill save my WGBH contributions and rent or stream online content instead.

Robert commented on MI-5 on 08.18.10
WGBH writes "Weve been aware for some time that there has been confusion . . ." So, I think you are paying attention. But you are not. Tonight I cancelled what I was doing to go home to watch "MI5 One Last Dance" as listed in Explore! And AGAIN that listing is wrong. Frankly I am at the point where I will just buy Seasons 7 8 and invite the neighbours in. sadly robert moore

Joseph commented on MI-5 on 08.15.10
Reading these comments, Ive just discovered that MI5 will soon be available only on Channel 44, a station which we cannot receive over the air or by cable. This follows our earlier disenfranchisement from your classical music programming since you transferred that exclusively to 99.5, which has a thirdrate signal at best and is located too far north for us to receive it. Its pretty clear to see what GBH management is doing and reinforces our preliminary decision to eliminate our substantial support for WGBH. A sad turn of events for a formerly wellmanaged operation, which used to care about its subscribers.

Catherine commented on MI-5 on 08.15.10
Cant believe that with the same breath that you are asking for financial support you are telling me that this fall youll move MI5 exclusively to channel 44, whcih I DO NOT RECEIVE. This is totally unfair. 44 gets movies and the duplicates of programs on channel 2, but channel 2 does not receive duplicates of the programs on 44, because they are "exclusive". Maybe I should support only channel 2 programs and not others. Or maybe I should withdraw financial support and just watch for free, since I apy my cable bill. I wonder how many other supporters you are going to lose...Cathy

Mary commented on MI-5 on 08.13.10
Agree with all the other MI5 fansthis is one of the best things on TV dont make us watch 2 hours of it straight, dont preempt it to fundraise, dont leave those who dont get channel 44 in the lurch, and please try to show these in sequence, and tell us the episode number in the TV guides.

Paul commented on MI-5 on 08.11.10
It is sad to see that MI5 was preempted tonight, and sadder still to see that it will be on Channel 44 exclusively in the autumn, since your transmitter for that channel is very, very weak. Putting it on in twohour blocks, BTW, is really a poor idea. Your web information for MI5 is so thin as to be nearly nonexistent please have to courtesy to let this list know the episode number that was missed tonight.

As a newv subscriber to WGBH 2 I am very distressed to learn that MI5 will move exclusively to WGBH 44.This is a channel which is not available on my Satellite TV provider Canadian .MI 5 is easily the best thriller series on TV and should be maintained on WGBH2

Catherine commented on MI-5 on 08.07.10
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! MI5 is permanently moving to channel 44 !!!!!!!! I AM DEFINITELY NOT NOT NOT RENEWING MY FINANCIAL SUPOORT OF YOUR STATION. HOW CAN YOU BE SO CALLOUS AS TO DISREGARD THE FACT THAT SOME OF US DO NOT RECEIVE CHANNEL 44. I AM BITTERLY DISAPPOINTED IN YOU.

Catherine commented on MI-5 on 08.07.10
Again, pledging preempts MI5...More Ed Slott, Wayne Dyer, Ed Sullivan, Brain futures...Oops you forgot to bring back Roy Orbison this time tsk, tsk. Im glad you are keeping Masterpiece on Sunday nights, but how about MI5 ON CHANNEL 2 ??? I dont receive channel 44 !!!!! I think it is time for a MI5 marathon. How about Season 4 episodes back to back, or Season 5 or even Season 6, so we try to piece together all the breaks and glitches in your scheduling which caused us to miss episodes???? How about something FOR us rather than against those of us who are faithful viewers and have been supporters for many years though the previous comments make that look "iffy" for the future Cathy

I strongly agree with all the comments I read and add my own. Please be more considerate of viewers. I am a longtime viewer and supporter of WGBH. I am in my 60s and I am hooked on this program. It is extremely frustrating to be left hanging, to have the show preempted by something less interesting and to have the sequences out of sync. PLEASE do something about this. Also please inform how I can view the whole series from the beginning. I will withhold any further donation until this situation is rectified.

simon commented on MI-5 on 07.28.10
What ? You stopped showing MI5. How about doing this to "Keeping Up Appearances" instead and keeping MI5 on the air

Terri commented on MI-5 on 07.28.10
MI5, besides waking the dead are the only shows worth watching on t.v. and you screwed up WTD by making it a 2 hour show. Does anyone doing the programming understand the nature of these shows???? Why stop MI5 midseason???? No $$$$ to you. sorry Im very upset. WGBH sucks.

R commented on MI-5 on 07.28.10
Another criticism on MI5 scheduling. Am frustrated as are many other viewers over your inconsistent scheduling missed especially two part segments. Am hoping to find outside source which isnt filtered by GBH since it is a BBC production. Most BBC dramas are very good with GBH productions as second tier. Your programmers dont seem to realize this. Couple all this with seemingly arbitrary preemption for fund raising which I estimate averages 3040 of programming time overall inclines me to give up on GBH and seek other sources of good drama. Is there another outlet for BBC drama? Maybe the internet will come through.

Ursula commented on MI-5 on 07.28.10
I cant believe there are no more episodes of MI5 scheduled!! Its the best program of many good programs on 44 and 2. Whats happened to Harry and Adam and crew now? Quick ! Get more !

Martin commented on MI-5 on 07.28.10
PLEASE get series 7 and 8 of MI5. But also please make the program listing the same as the schedule. For example program listing today says you are beginning the series all over again, but the schedule listing does not have MI5 at all.

John commented on MI-5 on 07.27.10
Please Please Please...purchase season 7 and beyond. As far as I know "Spooks" as it is known in the UK was in production up until at least last fall..We have a few more years left in this great show.

Yuen commented on MI-5 on 07.26.10
Does that mean GBH wont be broadcasting season 7? We love this series and are devastated that there will be no more new season!

Jim commented on MI-5 on 07.25.10
MI5 is perhaps the best program on WGBH/WGBX. We watch and enjoy both seasons, since there is always something you catch on the WGBH lineup even after you have seen it on GBX. It is satisfying and rewarding television and it does deserve more respect than the constant preemption for pledging. Give us more, not less, MI5

Phyllis commented on MI-5 on 07.24.10
I "second" all the previous viewers comments criticizing WGBH for not being consistent, informative, considerate and thoughtful by dropping and changing the schedule for MI5, one of the best programs youve ever aired. It is SO frustrating. Signed A Longtime Supporter and Former Public Broadcasting Employee. Thank you.

commented on MI-5 on 07.24.10
HELLO. MI5 is an excellent program and deserves better treatment than this, as do its viewers. It seems to be preempted for repeats of other shows all the time. It is on channel 2 only once per week and I dont have access to channel 44, so dont tell me to watch there. Does the programming department suffer from ADHD? Cant focus more than 10 minutes? Cant sit for more than 5? The members guide does not match what is in the newspaper guide and none match the online guide. What is the point of sending a members guide when you capriciously change it at will to substitute a repeat which has already aired several times this year. How many times does one need to watch Ed. Slott, Wayne Dyer or even Dr. Amen??? Each was great the first time, good the second, marginally informative the third and annoying the fourth. After that it is abusive to your faithful viewers and supporters. I agree that it makes me question my continued financial support and who determines "viewers favorites" they dont speak for me. With few exceptions, I am a PBS viewer, but now watch NHPTV or movies a lot more...

Sylvia commented on MI-5 on 07.22.10
MI5 is one of the best on TV. For Peter, I am 73 and love the show, so we older adults like the cutting edge too. I too am frustrated about the scheduling of episodes. Please take notice WGBH.

Catherine commented on MI-5 on 07.20.10
What is the situation with MI5? It is supposed on air on Wednesdays at 900 P.M. On the WGBH website, it says that Season 1, Episode 1 is airing on 7/28, On TV Guide website, it says "Equator" is airing in that time slot? So confusing!

Geoff commented on MI-5 on 06.26.10
This is why I cant find it in myself to continue contributing to WGBH. Surely, this is scheduling 101 only showing part one of a two part drama? Id rather not have watched part one than be abandoned like this. Its like a book with half the pages missing....whats the point?

Bruce commented on MI-5 on 06.21.10
HEY ...... Yeah, you in programming..... WAKE UP!!!! Lets see if I can get this straight? MI5 Series 5. Part 1 of 2 ( Episode One) aired on Saturday Night, but part 2 of Episode One wont be aired. Is that right? In the episode to be aired on Wednesday, June 23rd, Adam and Ros board a flight to Iran to intercept smuggled nuclear triggers. OMG!!!!!!!!!! This program is actually Episode #6 from Series 6! What the heck happened to Part 2 of episode One of Series 5????? Your programming department has managed to achieve an awardwinning "Royal Screwup" with that one!! Why would anyone watch WGBH, or contibute to Public Television if this is what is to be expected especially with programs already in the can and on the shelf. Are your viewers supposed to just leave WGBH on all the time, hoping that the next episode of MI5 to be aired, just might actually be the proper one in the sequence? Cmon now, your management of programming is beginning to make BP look good!

Bruce commented on MI-5 on 06.21.10
I too am very frustrated by the outdated and inaccurate WGBH schedule for Mi5. When will the secondhalf of the episode, that aired on Saturday, June 19th, going to be aired? The episode descriptions either dont exist or are simply wrong. This is NOT a good way to instill confidence in your viewers that WGBH has its act together. Cmon, someone in charge of scheduling has to get his/her act together here! Is someone at WGBH actually being paid for this chaos?

Paul commented on MI-5 on 06.20.10
MI5 is a truly great show with lots of fans like me, so I urge you to make its scheduling more consistent and publicized. And please show the episodes in their correct sequence!

Andy commented on MI-5 on 06.19.10
Very good show. Kind of careless to air a twopart suspense show (Sat 6/19) and not tell on your website schedule when the 2nd episode is. It looks like MI5 is aired Wednesdays too, but not the sequel to the 6/19 show. The schedule for one week later (6/26) only includes "viewer favorites".

commented on MI-5 on 06.15.10
I am SO glad that I am not the only one who is getting increasingly irritated with the manner in which you substitute and preempt schedulaed programming, especially MI5 and the previous Saturaday 1011 program (New Tricks). Whose favorites??? Not mine !!!!! I too am rethinking my financial support because the things you remove are ones I like (this week Frontlineyeah it is repeated at 2 AM !! I have to work, ya know in order to send you money). All so that you can do a High School Quiz show PRIMETIME marathon.. Big dealall in one night !! Sorry, to those outside the Boston area, FRONTLINE, being national and global, IS SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT. AND remember NO ALL OF US GET CHANNEL 44 !!!!!!

Robert commented on MI-5 on 06.01.10
Im with Peter (below) . . . Get your act together. The number of published programming errors for just Waking the Dead and MI5 is atrocious. Get back to a double bill on one night and then repeats another night. I am losing interest in supporting GBH (here in RI) and have no interest in your new digital channels.

Mavis commented on MI-5 on 06.01.10

Peter commented on MI-5 on 05.31.10
Fantastic series please continue to show this! MARKETING OPPORTUNITY FOR KEY DEMOGRAPHIC This series has a very similar feel to the Bourne movie/book series. PBS seems to cater to kids and people in their 40s60s, and beyond. This series seems to provide a great way especially to attract viewers in their 20s, 30s, 40s. WGBH PBS could benefit from a series like this in attracting more viewers in these age demographics. Please expend significant marketing efforts on this series you can reap great rewards while continuing to attract viewers like me. Thank you!

John commented on MI-5 on 04.28.10
GBHs schedule for "MI5" is WRONG and outdated. Why? It frustrates your viewers and donors! As of today (4/28/10) WGBH lists MI5 as airing May 1and 5. But, you didnt list it for two weeks ago (channel 44, 9 p.m.), nor when you preemtped it for fundraising last week), nor when you CHANGED the air time from Tuesdays to Wednesdays at 10 p.m. Get this, PROGRAMMING DEPT. you are screwing up. Get this, FUNDRAISING DEPT. you are losing donors. And, GENERAL MANAGER get your Programming and Scheduling Dept. to straighten out fast. Please! Your donor (for now), John
