I live in Linden Ponds which is a retirement community of ~ 1200 people in Hingham, MA
We have a performing arts center theater seating 300 people with a 12’X12’ drop down screen and a full projection A/V booth.
For the past 2010/2011 season, I have been showing the Berlin Philharmonic, Claudio Abbado Beethoven series on the big screen with some modifications to improve our existing sound system.
The response from our residents has been remarkable.
One man, who had stopped going to the BSO, remarked that it was a totally new experience. He became an instant fan.
After one of our 1st performances, I let the DVD run after I had turned up the house lights usually after any performance the audience jumps up and leaves the audience remained for every one of the curtain calls that Abbado took in the DVD. They were also applauding.
We are working our way not chronologically through the DVD’s and our next performance is Mon. Feb. 7th . I would like to extend an invitation to you to attend, because, I would greatly appreciate your opinion and comparison with our more intimate 300 seat PAC to a larger theater.
The performances are open to all and visitors are more than welcome.
