It was inspiring to hear Dr. Taylor speak so passionately on the subject of her scientific work and her sense of spirituality. Im the father of a beautiful 2 year old daughter with genetic abnormalities. Im going to church this morning to pray for her and for her doctors at Boston Childrens Hospital.

It is only natural for humans to blame things they do with negative consequences (war, sexual abuse, greed c.) on God or religion. Indeed, who else? But I think anyone who looks at the long range implications for life on earth knows that God and religion, on balance, are forces for what Iris Murdoch called "The SOvereoignty of Good." For more on this theme, see also BELIEFS by Frabis S. Collins (HarperOne, 2010).

are you people serious, you say people are bcoming kinder to one another. You mention Iraq, without mentioning over a million people were killed there. And that the United States is responsible deaths around the globe right now, not to mention the destruction of the planet through global warming? Religion can help us with forgiveness? From where i see it religion has been responsible and used as a pretext for most wars. lLook at the mess the catholic church is in now with sexual abuse coverups.
