On Saturday evening, April 13th, there was a story on Japanese Americans disappearing from a town, and focused on how the residents quickly forgot their neighbors. The reading was compelling and I sat, entranced, for the entire story. Now I cannot find the name of the story, the author, or the reader. Can anyone help?

I heard a story, I think in May, but only bits and pieces of it and Im looking for it now to read. Could someone please help me find it... Things I remember The storys main character was a woman who was married. I believe she would leave their bedroom at night and go into another mans house and fantasize about another man. It said the when she returned to the bedroom, her husband could feel her cold feet. He once asked her about it. I believe the bed she thought of was a brass canopy styled bed? And she found this key that she was unsure of what it went to. And during some point in the story it says something about her dropping the key and bending over and noticing the grass was wet from the dew. Ill be amazed and very happy if anyone can help me out with this one =

I loved the story about the Yiddish translator but cannot recall the name of the author cited. Can you help?

Klemes, thank you very much for finding the answer for me. I will look for the story so I can read it in its entirety. Again, greatly appreciated.

Correction the name of the story is "Flight Patterns." It is apparently frequently assigned in classes, because study guides and essays to plagiarize are readily available.

The story to which Leanna refers was written by Sherman Alexie. It was called something like "Open Skies" or "Clear Skies". The reading, I believe by someone whose last name was Wong, was brilliant. Its a real pity that these stories arent archived promptly.

I was listening to the short stories on my car ride home...1/8/11 930pm about a Native American named William and his cab ride with an Ethiopian driver who was brilliant in his own country and a pilot, but in America he was just a cab driver who would probably never see his children again...can anyone tell me what this story was? Thank you

I just heard the short story about the man who watched the seemingly attractive woman from afar in her hirise for a week and then discovered up close that she was elderly. I couldnt hear the story credits because of road noise. I read this story in "The New Yorker" during the early 1990s and I noticed tonights version had some changes however, the experience and climax of the story remained intact. Could it be possible that someone rewrote the story and actually took credit or was this by the original author?

Why dont you list the specific short story and author for each program? Or if you do, where can I find this information?
