Your copy mechanism misrepresented my message. To clarify
Ms. Biddle seemed understandably concerned about civilian casualties caused by American and British bombing of civilian targets in Germany during WWII. The percentages of the civilian populations who died in some European countries during WWII are Germany 2 percent Netherlands 2 percent Yugoslavia 3 percent Estonia 4 percent Latvia 7 percent Poland 7 percent Lithuania 8 percent USSR 8 percent Greece 10 percent. These percentages do not include civilians killed in the Jewish holocaust. If those civilians are included, the civilian death percentage in Poland rises to 16 percent. In addition, the civilian percentage WWII death rate in China, Korea, Malaya, the Dutch East Indies, Portuguese Timor, the Phillipines and the islands of the South Pacific that were occupied by the Japanese all exceed the civilian death rate in Japan (including Japanese civilian deaths in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings) viz. less than 1 percent vs 2 to 10 percent. Information at http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II_casualties Please forward this information to Ms. Biddle. Thank you Dwight Bramble
