What is High School Quiz Show?

High School Quiz Show puts the spotlight on some of Massachusetts' best and brightest young scholars. Produced right here at WGBH, this televised statewide competition encourages, showcases, and rewards academic achievement and intellectual curiosity. High School Quiz Show is endorsed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and is now in its second season.

High School Quiz Show was inspired by the original College Bowl, a popular televised quiz bowl that dates back to the 1960’s, and by televised high school academic competitions across the country. Long-standing competitions include Granite State Challenge in New Hampshire and As Schools Match Wits, a co-production of Westfield State University and WGBY in Western Massachusetts celebrating its 50th year.
