The popular long-running crime series MIDSOMER MURDERS is back for a new season. Based on the novels of Caroline Graham, the program boasts a lush visual style, quirky characters, ubiquitous red herrings, and a rural countryside reminiscent of classic public television British mysteries of the past. Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby, played by actor John Nettles (Bergerac), is the series star. Barnaby's long-time sidekick, Sgt. Troy (Daniel Casey), departs in Series VII, making room for Sgt. Dan Scott, played by John Hopkins.
